An improv comedy troupe will listen in on the conversations\, taking everything they heard from residents and bringing it to life on stage through entirely unscripted improv comedy theater. \nThe work of the Minnesota Humanities Center is to create a stronger Minnesota by increasing our understanding of the beauty\, wisdom and stories of its people. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the opening night of the We Are Water MN exhibit at the Ely Area Community Hub by joining the Ely Folk School and Reflections Dance Company for this interactive performance! The exhibit will be open for guests to peruse and enjoy and will feature a “Water Bar” for folks to sample different drinking water from our area. After a brief introduction to the exhibit\, Reflections Dance Company will perform several dances that will be featured in their August summer showcase; Water 2.0. DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Indian Affairs Council’s Language Revitalization Working Group\, partnering with the Minnesota Humanities Center\, is hosting the 5th Annual Dakota and Ojibwe Language Symposium. The goal of the symposium is to bring people and educators working in Dakota and Ojibwe language revitalization together. We will use this time to celebrate successes\, highlight the current state of the field\, shape future language revitalization efforts\, and elevate the visibility of Indigenous languages throughout the state of Minnesota. By bringing people together\, we hope this symposium serves as an opportunity for individuals to network with other Dakota and Ojibwe language professionals and provide valuable resources. \nCEUs will be available for educators attending the symposium. \nThis year\, the symposium will be held February 25\, 26\, and 27\, 2026 at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton\, MN. Breakfast and lunch are included. These free events use laughter and comedy to celebrate Minnesota communities\, promote dialogue\, bridge divides\, and help find ways to work constructively across differences in today’s political environment. \nBeginning with a catered meal\, these gatherings invite audience members to share what makes their town great\, what they think people get wrong about it\, what local divisions concern them\, and what future they imagine.
