SUMMARY:SAVE THE DATE! - Learning from Place: Anishinaabe Duluth/Misaabekong
DESCRIPTION:Experience Duluth/Misaabekong through Ojibwe/Anishinaabe perspectives\, exploring the stories\, histories\, and relationships to place that have shaped the city and continue to resonate today. \nThis immersive Learning from Place experience invites participants to move through significant sites in Duluth while exploring the meaning of Misaabekong—“the place of the giant”—Ojibwe fur trade history\, the story of Chief Buffalo\, and Anishinaabe relationships to the land and waters of the region. \nBeginning in downtown Duluth and continuing toward Canal Park and the city’s surrounding landscape\, participants will encounter familiar places through stories and perspectives that illuminate Indigenous knowledge\, community memory\, and connections to the land and water. \nAdditional details about the route\, featured speakers\, and activities will be shared as the experience continues to take shape. \nK-12 Educators will receive 3 clock hours upon completion of the event. \nRegistration\nRegistration coming soon! \nQuestions: immersive@mnhum.org
