Online – The Making of America: Educator Screening & Listening Session

Join fellow educators for a special screening of The Making of America, followed by an opportunity to share ideas about how it could be used in K–12 classrooms and professional development. This listening session will gather educator feedback to help shape potential classroom resources, teaching approaches, and professional learning opportunities connected to the film.
The Making of America is a documentary film that explores how Enlightenment-era systems of knowledge shaped what became the United States of America. Directed by Monique Linder, and produced by OMG Studios in partnership with Minnesota Humanities Center, the film explores how Enlightenment-era systems of knowledge – art, science, architecture, and cartography – produced enduring frameworks for racial slavery, territorial extraction, and Indigenous dispossession in what became the United States of America.
This film is part of an ongoing partnership between MHC and OMG Studios and a continuation of our 2026 Juneteenth commemorative series.
K-12 Educators will receive 1 clock hour.
